The place

Unstaffed DNT cabin in Stabbursdalen (Alta municipality, Finnmark, Norway). 16 beds: 14 in the main cabin + 2 in the annex Sikringshytta. DNT key required (at least one group member must have one). Gas cooker and oven, sauna (tønnebadstua), wood stove, basic kitchen equipment, running water in summer. DNT rates: adult 250 NOK, youth 13-25 125 NOK, free 4-12; double for non-members. Dogs allowed only in Sikringshytta by reservation. Open year-round. Summer: 4 h 30 from Stuorajávri or 8 h via the old postal road from Alta. Winter: groomed trails March-April on weekends from Stilla (18.5 km).
