A historic rustic cabin (the surname "Bodecker" is German, from Wisconsin's late-19th-century Volksdeutsche settler communities), in an area of maple-beech forest at the transition to the northern boreal core, and along the Great Divide Ridge (the fateful, nearly invisible ~10 m Superior/Mississippi watershed divide), part of the heritage of the Ojibwe/Anishinaabe (Chequamegon Bay, 1660, Jesuit mission of Father Allouez, founding of the Ojibwe community of La Pointe, 4,000-strong tribe).
