The place

Standard 4-bunk DOC hut in Tararua Forest Park (Wairarapa), at 851 m. Access from Kiriwhakapapa Road in 2 h (3.6 km). Connection to Cow Creek Hut in 3 h. No booking required, payment by hut tickets (blue for adults, yellow for youth) or Backcountry Hut Pass (NZ$10/5 until 30 June 2026).
