Blåhammarens Fjällstation
The place
Blåhammarens Fjällstation is the highest mountain station of the Svenska Turistföreningen (STF), perched at 1086 m elevation on bare mountain terrain in western Jämtland (Sweden). Exceptional views of Helags and the Sylarna massif to the south, and of the Norwegian mountains to the west. Capacity of about 56 beds split between the main building (rooms of 2, 4 and 6 beds, restrooms, showers, sauna, drying room) and the annex (a 14-bed room and an 8-bed room, self-catering kitchen and drying room). No road access: reached only on foot or by ski, the nearest station being Storulvån 12 km away. A stage of the classic Jämtlandstriangeln. Meals: breakfast buffet, coffee break buffet, traditional fruit soup, three-course dinner at 6 pm with communal seating.
