The place

The highest self-service DNT cabin of Oslo og Omegn, at 1,580 m in the Skarvheimen area (Norway). 24 bunks (10 bookable + 14 walk-in). Gas heating, wood stove, and candles, no electricity. Fitted kitchen, bedding and tableware provided, provisions on site. Dog kennels in an outbuilding. Summer access: bus to Breistølen or Bjøberg then a 4-hour marked walk. Winter: bus to Breistølen then 11 km by ski. Closed from mid-October to 15 February.
