The place
Small, well-maintained bivouac at 2921 m in Val-Cenis (Maurienne, Savoie / Italian border), equipped with the essentials: 8 to 10 sleeping places, a table, two chairs. Accessible in about 3 hours of steady climbing from the Galambra valley below (Refuge Levi-Molinari). Built in memory of a member of the CAI Susa section who died in 1994 during a winter ascent of the Grand Hoche (Beaulard). Work carried out with contributions from the Province of Turin and the Communauté de Montagne Haute Vallée de Suse, by volunteers from the CAI Susa section and the CNSAS stations of Exilles and Susa. Spectacular view over the Val di Susa. Ideal for high-altitude ascents between Punta Sommellier, Passo dei Forneaux and Cima del Vallonetto.
