The place

Sleeping spaces planned: 10. Mattress spaces: 10. Interior equipment: - 2 tables and 2 benches - Very good insulation - 10 large, very comfortable mattresses (more than 10 people can fit in if needed...). - Snow shovel + broom. This bivouac appears to be the twin of the one in the Val di Bardoney (2780m, west foot of the Torre di Lavina). From Gimillan (above Cogne): Take path No. 8, which follows the very long Vallone del Grauson; it's the path that goes up to the Passo Invergneux, which allows you to cross into the vast Vallon d'Urtier. From Gimillan, the bivouac is given at 3h55 (you need to be precise in the mountains); 1h10 before the Passo Invergneux, branch left onto path No. 8G, well marked, which will bring you to the bivouac in a little under an hour. From the Vallon d'Urtier: Cross the Passo d'Invergneux; in good visibility you can see the bivouac to the north, at roughly the same height as the pass and off-trail (no difficulty); head north to pass east of the Laghi Doreire, descend a little, cross the Torrent Doreire, a short steep climb brings you onto the ascent path of the Vallon de Grauson; it takes under 1h between the Passo Invergneux and the bivouac. Owned by the Société des Guides de Cogne. The full name of the bivouac is: Bivouac Ale Muggia & Elmo Glarey. It sits on a small rise south of the Tête Doreire, at the foot of the Punta Tersiva.
