Bivouac Fratelli Leonessa

The place

Sleeping places planned: 10 Places on mattress: 10 A contribution of €5 is requested for each overnight stay (2019 rate). Indoor equipment: - 2 sleeping platforms each with 5 mattresses + blankets and pillows - 2 picnic tables Water: - 15/20 min before reaching the bivouac, where the path changes direction, you cross several streams where you can fill up. Bivouac located at the foot of the east ridge of the Herbetet. From Valnontey, go up the valley (path 22), then at the fork that leads to the other bivouacs at the head of the valley, take the right, path 22G, which also leads to the Casolari Herbetet (a PNGP park hut). At the hut, leave the path that continues along a magnificent balcony route to [->6381], and follow trail 22G, which heads west and climbs a moraine not through a series of switchbacks; the path continues due west toward the Coll Herbetet, after crossing several streams (where you can fill up), the path then curves south/southeast to reach the bivouac after crossing an area of slabs and boulders — follow the yellow markers and cairns carefully, as in this rocky area the path is unmarked and the bivouac is only visible at the last moment.
