The place

CAI bivouac at 2710 m on a rocky spur in the commune of Pontechianale (Cuneo), Val Varaita (Italian Cottian Alps). Dedicated to the brothers Carlo and Renzo Berardo, mountaineers from Savigliano who died tragically. Always open, unstaffed, capacity 9 spaces including 8 fully equipped with mattresses and blankets. Managed by the CAI di Savigliano. About 30 minutes from the Bivacco Boarelli and the Laghi delle Forciolline. A small, relatively little-known bivouac, perched on a rocky spur.
