Bivouac Antoldi-Malvezzy
The place
Italian bivouac hut at 2920 m on a scree plateau at the end of the left moraine of the Glacier de Valeille (Cogne, Aosta Valley). Originally built in 1935, rebuilt in 2003. Dedicated to the memory of Guido Antoldi and Laura Malvezzi. 10 places, basic equipment with no kitchen. Access from Cogne via the hamlet of Champlong (1602 m) then the hamlet of Lillaz, path up the Valeille valley in about 4h30 with a final steep scree slope. Provides access to the Punte Patrì, Punta Ondezana and the Colle di Teleccio.
Getting there
Le bivouac se rejoint en une journée de marche depuis Lillaz (vallée de Cogne), par le vallon de Valeille, avec un dénivelé positif d'environ 1300 m (départ vers 1617 m). Itinéraire coté T4 (randonnée exigeante) dans le Parc national du Grand Paradis.
The setting
Situé à 2920 m d'altitude dans le massif du Grand Paradis (Vallée d'Aoste, Italie), au fond du haut vallon de Valeille, en haute montagne au sein du Parc national du Grand Paradis.
A bit of history
Construit une première fois en 1935 en mémoire de l'alpiniste turinois Guido Antoldi, environ 150 m plus bas que son emplacement actuel. Détruit par une avalanche en 1977, il a été reconstruit en 1979 et porte depuis également le nom de Laura Malvezzi. Une rénovation a eu lieu en 2003.
