The place

Slovenian bivouac at 1160 m set at the edge of a meadow on the Črnilcu, below the western face of Krn, in the Julian Alps (municipality of Kobarid, Littoral). Built by mountaineers of Drežnica, members of PD Kobarid, from a ruined hay barn, it opened on 3 July 1983. A pipe supplies water to the site from a spring 200 m away (a tank was installed in 1985). No sleeping places, but a bench, a table and a few blankets for a stopover. Easy access from Drežnica (553 m) in 1h45 via a waymarked trail, 607 m elevation gain. Maintained by local mountaineers.
