Bivacco Valentino Belloni
The place
Semi-cylindrical bivouac at 2,490 m on the Loccia dei Camosci, at the foot of the eastern ridge of the Grand Fillar, managed by the CAI Gallarate section. Nine sleeping places. Inaugurated on 15 July 1950 in memory of Valentino Belloni, a member who fell during the Second World War. Built quickly by mountain guide Giuseppe Oberto of Macugnaga after the purchase of four bivouacs was decided in 1944. Base for climbing the Piccolo and Grand Fillar, the Cima Brioschi, the Jägerhorn and the Torre di Castelfranco.
Getting there
Access in about 2 h 10 from Belvedere (1,914 m), crossing the scree-covered Belvedere glacier with visible crevasses. From Alpe Filar, the path no longer exists.
