Bivacco Tamars
The place
Bivouac tucked at 785 m on the Mont di Prât plateau above Forgaria (Udine, Friuli-Venezia Giulia), reached via the CAI 818 trail (Cornino - Monte Prat - Bivacco Tamars loop). Private property, open to passing hikers. Built of stone and wood, with masonry terraces that make it rise out of the wooded flank. A single room of about 10 m² on the ground floor with a table, two benches, wood stove and woodbox, plus a sleeping mezzanine. Outside: a wood store, a wooden bench and a stone oven, a large table and benches on the lower terrace. The work of volunteers led by Valentino and Renata, the owners, who over many weekends rebuilt a collapsed wall overrun by vegetation.
