The place

Bivouac at 1953 m (sources vary between 1953 and 2037 m) in Valle di Salimmo, municipality of Temù (Brescia, Lombardy), in the Adamello massif (Rhaetian Alps). Built in spring 1974 by a group of young people from Temù and inaugurated on 7 July of the same year, dedicated to the memory of the mountaineer Sperandio Zani, known as "Spera", from Temù. A rock wall with a niche housing a small Madonna and a photo plaque in tribute. Zani became a mountain guide on 20 November 1929, chief guide in 1932, honorary in 1956; he is said to have climbed the Adamello about 300 times, with or without skis. A historic stop on Adamello routes, linked to the Rifugio Garibaldi.
