Pordenone · Italie0 mUnguardedVerified listing

The place

Bivouac dedicated to Silvio and Rudi, always open, set at the Casera Ceresera on the karst plateau east of the Cansiglio forest (province of Pordenone/Treviso, on the edge of the Veneto-Friulian Cansiglio). Although the two main casera buildings are closed, a small room dedicated to the Bivacco Silvio e Rudi remains constantly accessible. Facilities: 6 sleeping spots on foam mattresses, a wood stove, a bench and a few emergency supplies. Managed by the CAI Sacile section. Classic access: starting from Archeton (picnic area and car park), a clockwise loop reaching the Bivacco Silvio e Rudi and the Casera Ceresera — 7.1 miles (11.4 km), 440 m elevation gain, 3.5-4 h duration. An exceptional setting in the high karst lands of the eastern Cansiglio, ancient beech forests and plateau-floor alpine pastures, a vantage point for spotting deer during the September rut.
