The place

A bivouac of the CAI Tolmezzo section, nestled in the beech forest north of Monte Amariana, in Carnia (Friuli-Venezia Giulia). Formerly owned by the commune of Tolmezzo, the shelter was transferred to the CAI and then fully renovated (roof, openings, masonry section) before being renamed in honour of Romano Cimenti and Cirillo Floreanini. Sleeping on a wooden platform, a water source two minutes below towards the hamlet of Illegio, and firewood available nearby. An ideal base on trail 443 for the ascent of Monte Amariana.
