The place

Bivouac at 2590 m in the Morion area, Ollomont valley (Aosta Valley, Italy), with views of the Morion lakes and the Grand Combin, overlooking Lac Benseya. Built in 1952 in memory of Nino Regondi, a young mountaineer who died in a car accident, then replaced in 1995 by a more comfortable wooden structure dedicated to Nino Regondi and Pietro Gavazzi, president of the CAI Desio section. Modern wooden structure with a solar-heat-absorbing metal roof, fitted with solar panels and interior lighting; about 15 beds on two sleeping platforms, 16 places in total. Jointly owned by the CAI Desio and CAI Bovisio-Masciago sections. Always open. Access from Glacier (1549 m) to Ollomont via marked path 6.
