Bivouac at ~2020 m on the Alpe Bosa, municipality of Montecrestese (Verbano-Cusio-Ossola, Piedmont), managed by the Unione Montana Alta Ossola. Dedicated to the memory of Stefano Punchia, the refuge offers twelve bunks, a stove, mattresses in the mezzanine; no water on site. Always open. A key stop on the "Sentiero Libertà" (a memorial route along the paths of the Spalloni, former cross-border smugglers) between Val d'Ossola and the Canton of Ticino, as well as near the disputed Cravariola alpine pasture.
