The place
Bivouac at 1980 m in the upper Valle dei Ratti (province of Sondrio, Valtellina), opened in 1995 by the CAI branch of Como, which still maintains it today. Built as part of the development of the 'Sentiero Life', linking Codera to Val Masino via the Primalpia and Spluga passes. The name comes from the nearby Alpe Primalpia. Fully equipped: fireplace, wood stove, gas cooker, larder, about twenty bunks on three-tier bunk beds, bathroom with shower, sink and squat toilet. A well-organised stop on the Sentiero Bonatti, linking to Rifugio Volta and Rifugio Frasnedo.
