The place

Italian bivouac hut at 2210 m in the Pale di San Lucano (province of Belluno, Dolomites), in a meadow full of wildflowers. Small red metal shelter built in 1977 by the Vicenza alpine group, owned by the CAI. Dedicated to Margherita Bedin, who tragically died on the Gran Sasso d'Italia. Often described as the most beautiful bivouac hut in the Dolomites — an almost 360° panorama over the surrounding mountains. Distinctive feature: large panoramic windows allowing you to enjoy the scenery even from inside. Relatively large for a bivouac hut, comfortably sleeps 9 people with mattresses, blankets and even Italian coffee pots. Standard access from Cencenighe Agordino (Pradimezzo), climbing to the Malga d'Ambrosogn (path 764) then towards the Forcella Besausega (path 765) up to the bivouac hut.
