The place
Bivouac at 1850 m in the hills above the municipality of Esine (Brescia, Lombardy), also known as Bivacco Lupi di San Glisente al Fop de Cadì. Cornerstone laid in 1844: originally an alpine pasture and shepherd's shelter, the building fell into disrepair in the 1980s. Restored by ERSAF starting in 2009, then the Lupi di San Glisente association took over the work in 2012 and completed the inauguration in 2014. Open year-round, eight beds, running water (shut off from November to April), lighting, wood stove, gas, dishes and utensils for making tea or coffee. A typical stop in the Foresta Regionale Valgrigna.
