The place

Sleeping places: 18. Places on mattress: 18. There are actually 2 huts: the [->10676] and the new one right next to it. Wooden hut clad in zinc sheeting, built in 1973. Unstaffed, always open, no phone or internet network. 18 places on three-tier sleeping platforms. Mattresses, blankets. Table, benches. Note: often crowded as it is very popular with hikers (also as an alternative to [->8844] for those doing the Tour du Mont-Blanc). Beneath the Pointe Allobrogia, on a ledge on the left bank of the Pré de Bard glacier. From [->8844], go back down a bit on the vehicle track to reach a trail that heads onto the moraine on the left bank of the Pré de Bard glacier. Right below the Petit Col Ferret, the trail climbs a steep slope. Just before the pass, a trail on a ledge above the Val Ferret skirts the south ridge of the Pointe Allobrogia and reaches rocky terrain and small moraines with the bivouac in view. Allow 3h from [->8844], 1h from the Petit Col Ferret. CAI Turin section. Official site: https://www.clubalpinoaccademico.it/chi-siamo-2/bivacchi-2/bivacco-cesare-fiorio
