The place
Italian metal-framed bivouac perched at 2647 m between the Lac du Longet and the Lac du Bes, inaugurated in August 2018. Sleeps 6 on mattresses. Fitted with solar panels (a few hours of lighting each evening) and an emergency radio. Wooden interior furnishings: two small tables and stools. For water, several streams flowing down from the north can be reached by heading up the Longet valley (French side, 20–25 min before the pass), or about 200 m south of the Col du Longet on the Italian side, on the Vallon du Loup trail.
Getting there
Depuis Chianale (CN), suivre la route principale au-delà du village puis le sentier U21 en direction du Lago Bleu. Sentier propre et bien tracé, balisage blanc-rouge. Environ 2h de marche pour ~800m de dénivelé. Le parcours traverse d'abord une forêt puis débouche sur un vallon ouvert avec vue sur les pâturages, avant d'atteindre le Lago Bleu (2540m) puis le bivouac.
The setting
Bivouac situé à 2648m dans la haute Valle Varaita (Piémont), à proximité du Lago Bleu, un lac alpin d'altitude. Observation possible de marmottes. Paysage de plateau montagneux et pâturages d'altitude.
