The place

"Emilio Greppi" bivouac-refuge at 1915 m in the Lepontine Alps, municipality of Toceno (Valle Vigezzo, province of Verbano-Cusio-Ossola, Piedmont). Built in 1939, managed by the Vigezzo section of the Club Alpino Italiano. A stone building with a stone roof, typical of Ossola tradition, 6 indoor beds. A scenic location among small lakes and alpine pastures — a starting point for climbing the Pizzo Ruggia or exploring the alpine pastures of the Valle Vigezzo.
