Bivacco Emiliano Lanti

The place

CAI bivouac hut at 2115 m at Prati del Ratuligher (a Walser term meaning "resting place for livestock surrounded by rhododendrons"), on the Tour of Monte Rosa and the Sentiero Italia CAI (Quarazza valley, Macugnaga, Piedmont, Italy). Built in the early 1970s, dedicated to the last shepherd of the Quarazza valley. Rebuilt in 2019 thanks to the regional Rural Development Plan: entirely new wooden structure clad in sheet metal, solar-panel lighting with a USB charging point. Capacity 9 beds, plus a table with benches convertible into 3 extra sleeping spots (12 places total).
