The place
Tiny bivouac at 2200 m called Mario Donati, nestled in a rock crevice at the "window" of the Pizzo Badile Camuno (southern Rhaetian Alps, Adamello group, Valcamonica, Lombardy, Italy). Access via CAI path 77 from the Malghe del Volano, the normal route up the Pizzo Badile Camuno. The via ferrata to the summit begins right after the bivouac. A commemorative plaque placed by members of the CAI Cedegolo dedicates the shelter to Mario Donati, who, with a friend, designed and built it. The hut appears at the last moment, carved into the rock.
