The place
Former shepherd's hut restored by the Appennino Tosco-Emiliano National Park as a stage bivouac on the Alta Via dei Parchi, at 1539 m. A welcoming, peaceful setting for hikers crossing the park, basic facilities with free access. Not to be confused with the identically named Bivacco / Capanna Lagoscuro located on the Corno di Lagoscuro (3166 m) on the Adamello side, linked to the historic figure of Giovanni Faustinelli. A typical stop on north Apennine crossings between Tuscany and Emilia-Romagna.
