The place
Bivacco dei Loff ("of the Wolves" in the Venetian dialect) on the Cansiglio plateau, Alpago area (Belluno/Pordenone, Veneto/Friuli, Italy), at 1119 m elevation. Part of the continuous Cansiglio cluster (batches 196-263). An unstaffed, free-access CAI bivouac in the "Forest of the Doge" of the Republic of Venice (timber for the Arsenal, 16th century). Area of monumental beeches and karst meadows, part of the Cimbri heritage.
