Bivacco Damiana del Gobbo
The place
Bivouac inaugurated in 1985 in memory of Damiana del Gobbo, a young mountaineer from Udine who died on the Cima Piccola di Lavaredo. Positioned at 1991 m on a grassy knoll at the center of the Cadin di Dentro, dominated to the south by the vertical dolomite walls of the Clap massif (municipality of Sappada, Friuli-Venezia Giulia / Cadore-Comelico). The bivouac is almost entirely surrounded by the high vertical walls of the Creton di Culzei, the Torre Sappada, the Creton di Clap Grande and the Campanili di Elbel — a striking rock cirque. A base for all excursions and climbs in the Clap group. Facilities: 9 beds with mattresses and blankets, small table, stools, tableware. Managed by CAI Sappada. Two classic approaches from Sappada: via the Col Lanar (8.28 km, 6 h, panoramic views) or via the Forcella dei Cadini (11.44 km, 6 h, sunnier and less tiring approach). Managed by CAI Sappada.
