The place

Wooden refuge at 2400 m in the Val Curciusa, in the municipality of Mesocco (Grisons, Switzerland), built as part of the "Gran Panorama" initiative that runs along the Italian-Swiss border between the Pizzo Tambo and Pizzo Gesero, parallel to the Valle Mesolcina. A "Toblerone"-shaped structure following the same design as the refuges already built in the area (Piz Pian Grand). Capacity of 11 fixed sleeping spots, expandable to 15 if needed. Small kitchen with a gas stove (bring your own supplies); bring a sleeping bag or hut liner. Open year-round: accessible on foot in summer, by ski with skins in winter.
