Bivacco Ceco Baroni
The place
Bivouac in the middle of the Valle Adamé at 2800 m (DB 2802 m), province of Brescia (Lombardy), near the Cima delle Levade and the Pian di Neve in the Adamello massif. Dedicated to Francesco "Ceco" Baroni, mortar sergeant-major of the 54th company of the Vestone Battalion in Russia, mentioned by Rigoni Stern in the historical novel "Il sergente nella neve". Designed by the ANA (Alpini) section of Brescia, built in 1977 by Ceco's friends and inaugurated on 3 September 1978. 6 beds and access to meltwater nearby. Owned by A.N.A. Brescia. Access route from Valle di Saviore (Malga Lincino, 1621 m) via trail N.15 ("Scales of the Adamé") to the Rifugio Lissone (2020 m, 1 h), then trail N.1 to Baita Adamé (50 min), footbridge over the Poia, then trail N.30 along the valley to the bivacco (~2 h 10 more).
