The place
Bivouac at 1649 m in the Val Campestrin, commune of Ospitale di Cadore (Belluno, Veneto), at the heart of the Sasso di Bosconero group. The result of restoring a casera abandoned since the 1930s, the shelter was inaugurated in September 1968 by members of the CAI San Donà di Piave section. Twelve beds (two bunk beds on the ground floor, eight places upstairs), mattresses, blankets, stove, pots and various accessories. Water fountain next to the shelter. Always open. Main access from Ospitale di Cadore via trail 483 (~3h20 on foot, ~2h10 from the forest barrier in summer) or from the Forcella Cibiana (~2h30).
