Bivacco Caldarini
The place
Bivouac inaugurated in 1970 at 2486 m in the Val Cantone di Dosdè, above the Val Viola (municipality of Valdidentro, Sondrio), in the Viola-Piazzi group of the Rhaetian Alps. Built of the red sheet metal typical of CAI bivouacs, designed for nine people with beds, mattresses and blankets; a table, two benches, three stools and some kitchen utensils complete the equipment. Set on a rocky plateau at the foot of the north ridge of the Cima Settentrionale di Lago Spalmo, it offers a sweeping view over the valley and the majestic Corno Dosdè (3233 m). Owned by the CAI Desio section. Dedicated to the memory of Angelo and Seconda Caldarini.
