The place
Unstaffed bivouac at 2,508 m in the upper Val Starleggia, near the Swiss border, north-east of the Pizzo della Sancia (Pizzo Montagna). Managed by the CAI Valle Spluga - Madesimo section. Twelve beds in a simple structure open all year. A useful stage for traverses of the eastern Lepontine Alps and approaches to border peaks between Madesimo and the Mesolcina valley.
