Bivacco Barchitt
The place
Wilderness bivouac at 1629 m in the municipality of Valvarrone (Lecco, Lombardy), near the Alpe Agrogno and the Passo della Stanga, in the Monte Legnone area. Small always-open stone structure, unguarded, no booking, fitted with basic bunks for a stop or emergency. Rifugio Roccoli Lorla lies 2 km to the west for continuing itineraries. A good base for loops around the Legnone and the upper Valvarrone.

A bit of history
Ce bivouac fait l'objet d'un projet de réhabilitation porté par une association de promotion sociale locale, fondée en 2020 par des habitants du hameau voisin, dont la mission est de valoriser le patrimoine historique et naturel local. Le bivouac se situe le long d'un sentier reliant les Roccoli Lorla au Mont Legnone, près de l'Alpe di Agrogno.

Ce bivouac est classé non géré et reste toujours ouvert, mais il est concrètement pris en charge par une association de promotion sociale locale. Il est recommandé de vérifier sa disponibilité auprès de cette association avant la visite.
