The place

Wooden bivouac at 1740 m, just below Monte Croce (1780 m), province of Lecco (Lombardy, Italy), at the heart of the Grigne Park. Built by the Alpini and the residents of Esino Lario for ascents of Monte Croce. Always open. Fireplace, table, dishes and general equipment; a locked room upstairs for equipment storage. Panorama from the outdoor table over the Grigne group, the Pizzi di Perlasco, Defendente, Legnone and the Bellagio promontory on the lake. Classic access from the Passo del Cainallo (Cainallo refuge).
