Bivacco Augusto Pala

The place

Bivouac of the CAI Macugnaga section, set on a grassy shelf south of the Faderhorn (2475 m), in the Monte Rosa protection area. Originally a simple mountain shelter, the building was restored in 1978 and later dedicated to the engineer Augusto Pala on its thirtieth anniversary. Two beds, open year-round. Water available at an untreated spring outside.
