The place
Bivouac shelter perched high in the Valle Moriana, above Pestarena di Macugnaga in Piedmont. Built in 1999 by the Amici della Valle Moriana association from a restored 18th-century alpine hut, it is made available in partnership with the CAI Macugnaga section. Open year-round, it offers nine sleeping places in a setting of silence and wilderness, equipped with a wood stove. A base for hikes in the Monte Rosa massif.
