The place
Rifugio-bivouac at ~1640 m in the municipality of Beura-Cardezza (Verbano-Cusio-Ossola, Piedmont), on the edge of the Val Grande National Park. A small alpine-pasture hamlet with several baite, reached in about 4 hours' walk from the car park. A building with about twenty sleeping places, equipped with a wood stove and gas kitchen, solar lighting. Managed by the municipality of Beura-Cardezza, normally open year-round. A good base for exploring the Val Grande - Val d'Ossola area.
