Bivacco Aldo Frattini
The place
Bivouac built of metal, about three and a half by two and a half metres, installed by the CAI Bergamo section on the ridge separating the Valsecca from the Piani del Campo vale, just beyond the Passo Valsecca, on the route of the Alta Via delle Orobie Bergamasche in the commune of Valbondione. Capacity of nine people, equipped with perimeter benches and folding beds that convert into rescue stretchers. The new bivouac also serves as a scientific outpost with environmental sensors for real-time monitoring of the alpine ecosystem. Cover fabric developed with Ferrino, the first permanent emergency textile structure in an alpine environment.
Getting there
From Carona, a paved road to the Rifugio Longo and the Fregabolgia basin, then trail no. 210 to the Rifugio Calvi, then the Sentiero delle Orobie Centrali via the Val Gamisana, turning east to the Passo di Valsecca (2,496 m), a short descent to the bivouac.
