The place

Two bivouacs in Val Bratica (Monchio delle Corti, Province of Parma), within the Cento Laghi Park (Tuscan-Emilian Apennines), at roughly 1,000 m elevation. Restored stone buildings — former essiccatoi (chestnut-drying sheds) and metati (agricultural storehouses) — preserving their original stone-and-timber architectural features. Total capacity of 8 people: each bivouac has 2 bunk beds (4 places). Facilities per bivouac: wood stove, refrigerator, storage, electric lighting, table with benches. Shared annex: shower, toilets, running water, heating. ECO environmental label since February 2009. Check-in 2 p.m., check-out 10 a.m. Possible winter restrictions (freezing). 2026 rates: €50/day (June-September) or €40 (other months) + €10/occupant; free under 5 years old.
