The place
Swiss Alpine Club hut at 2,267 m in the upper Binntal in Valais, within the Binntal regional nature park renowned for its mineral deposits. Managed by the Delémont section of the SAC. Fifty beds in the guarded season and forty-eight in the winter room. Guarded in summer from July to October, sometimes open at Easter and New Year depending on conditions. Historic waypoint on the crossing between Switzerland and Italy, from Binn-Fäld on the Swiss side or the Alpe Devero / Val Formazza on the Italian side.
