The place

Masonry hut at 2010 m in the Taillefer / Matheysine massif (Isère), restored in 2017 by the commune of Ornon and the Écrins National Park. Free access. A shepherd may stay there during the day or overnight — leave it clean, don't forget food, clothing, bottles or candles. Access via the GR 50, then at a path junction around 1660 m, leave the GR 50 to follow a yellow-waymarked path towards Lac Fourchu; after a series of small rocky bands, around 2000 m, the hut appears 200 m to the right, partly hidden by the terrain.
