The place

Basic 3-bunk DOC hut at 825 m in Korowai/Torlesse Tussocklands Park (Canterbury, NZ). Free. Thirteen Mile Bush track: 3-4 h from the car park. Vehicle access stops at the first car park; on foot from there. Dogs prohibited on the track and on the private easement. Wasp peak January-March: light clothing and antihistamines recommended.
