Barraca dels Pastors

The place

Very basic shelter at 2245 m in the Eyne valley nature reserve (Cerdagne, Pyrénées-Orientales), ideal for minimalist hikers. Single room closed by a metal-and-wood door with a window. Pallet table, 3 chairs, fixed bench, storage furniture, a 4-place sleeping platform on 2 levels with worn mattresses and two pillows, no blanket. Electric heater but no fireplace or stove. No toilets, no water point, no dishes. From Eyne, follow the reserve's markers towards the valley: the path climbs along the stream on the left bank, passes at 2080 m near the Orri de Baix, then reaches the Barraca dels Pastors on the right bank.
