Baraque du Pison

The place

Unstaffed hut at 1540 m on the high plateaus of the Vercors, near the Dent de Die at the Lentillière landmark. A sheet-metal building able to hold about ten people (6 comfortable places), fitted with a stove, a saw and an outdoor lean-to for dry firewood. Water at the Fontaine de l'Ours (5 min, flow uncertain), or at the more reliable springs at the Col des Bachassons (40 min) and Les Endettés (1 h). Thoroughly cleaned by a volunteer association in October 2024, with interior renovation planned for spring 2025 in coordination with the ONF — adding a sleeping mezzanine and improving storage. Located within a nature reserve, so bringing bivouac gear is recommended as backup.
