The place

Unmanned shelter at 590 m in the Caroux-Espinouse-Lacaune massif (Hérault). Two-storey building with a damaged roof, useful for sheltering from rain, old fireplace. Former refuge of the "Maquis Jean Grandel" Resistance group during the Second World War, meeting place for planning sabotage operations by the resistance fighters. Accessible via nearby hiking trails, notably the GR 77 and the GRP Haut-Languedoc.
