The place

Forest hut at 1300 m in the Vercors massif (Drôme), about 2 h from the Jasse du Play and 1h30 from Saint-Agnan via the central path. Run-down but with a working fireplace, table and benches, loft for sleeping (wooden floor), wood nearby. Inventory: table, 3 chairs and 1 stool in poor condition, a saw fit for scraping ice, a usable broom. Very poor condition reported recently: mouse droppings on both floors, signs of rodents or rats in the walls, mosquitoes nearby. Access via the narrow forest road from Saint-Agnan exposed to falling rocks and boulders, especially in the upper section — increased danger during heavy rain or thaw.
