The place

Former forest hut of the Grande Abbaye at 1160 m in the Bauges (Savoie/Haute-Savoie). Large structure: 80 m² main room, firewood storage area, lounge area with table and bench, small dormitory fitted with 3 metal bunks, two small rooms and a large empty space. Fountain in front of the hut, appearing to flow year-round. Table, benches and chairs available. Various access routes: from the Saint-Ruph valley (car park at the end of the forest track), from the Seythenex resort, from the Chalets de Servaz or from the Col d'Orgeval. Motor vehicles, bivouacking and camping forbidden. Mountain biking allowed only on the Arclusaz, Orgeval and Col de Chérel trails; some areas off-limits to hiking.
