Baito Busa del Molton
The place
A small stone shelter known as "Baito del Pastore" (shepherd's hut) at 1736 m in the Val Galmarara, Portule area (Altopiano dei Sette Comuni, Asiago, Vicenza, Veneto). The toponym "Busa del Molton" (in Italian, Buca del Montone) denotes the place where flocks all gathered in spring for wool shearing. Facilities: mattresses and a stove. Located a few metres northeast of the nearest refuge; the bottom is reached via a short escarpment and develops along two orthogonal N-S and E-W fractures. Twenty karst cavities of the Busa del Molton within a 200 m radius — an important site for local speleology. Near Monte Zoviello and Monte Cucco di Portule.
